Winter Moon in Between
8th Edition of 10
Using a 500mm telephoto lens, it is a close up shot of our moon at 94% waning gibbous, rising over the iconic Urangan Pier in August 2015. Had to position my camera on a tripod at this specific place, placing the mesmerising orange moon, right in the midst of the jetty's two lamp posts.
Printed on a musuem grade 100% cotton rag, framed in a 22mm bevelled black timber frame with a white/black core mat border with v-groove
Size including frame: 1160mm x 560mm

Spring Electric
4th Edition of 50
Mother nature was very kind to me one evening on 10.10.2018. She sent a loud roar of thunder with frequent lightning to let me know that it's time to chase the storm. It was exhilarating driving towards Urangan, seeing the continuous flash of light. Upon my arrival at the jetty, I walked straight to the middle of it. This is a composite image of 7 of the thousands of lightning strikes that evening, that I put together as to where it exactly appeared to show you how spectacular it was.

Lady Aurora in Red
1st Edition of 50
Around 9:30pm on the 11th of May 2024, I saw the forecast of a level G4 geomagnetic storm, that Aurora would possibly be visible as far as North Queensland. So I decided to check out my favourite spot at Gatakers Bay in Point Vernon. After all those rain we had in the last few nights, Mother Nature gave us this one night with clear skies, calm wind and high tide. It was a perfect serenity for star gazing but I did not see any beems of colours. However afer finding a beautiful perspective of the Milky Way Galaxy which I love to photograph, I thought I'd create a stitched panorama with some light painting on the trees. To my greatest suprise the elusive Lady Aurora splashed some red hues over the horizon not visible to the naked eye. Plus a single meteor too! and the planet Venus reflecting on the placid water :) I am truly over the moon to have the privilege of creating this masterpiece in our backyard. Who would have thought that my very first Aurora chase will happen in Hervey Bay. What do you know! :)
Printed on a musuem grade 100% cotton rag, framed with a chalk/black core mat border with double v-grooves and framed in a 64mm mocha wormwood timber frame.
Size including frame: 1348mm x 925mm

Beauty of Mother Nature
2nd Edition of 50
The moment I heard the thunder with frequent lightning strikes, I immediately drove to Scarness with this image in mind. While I was parking the car, the rain had already been pouring down. The spectacular lightning show made stay; so I sat in the car for half an hour watching the show. As I was waiting and the storm started to drift away, a vivid orange ball of light on my right has caught my attention. I could not believe what I saw. The gap of clouds on the horizon was just in time to let the waning gibbous moonrise peeps, while the lightning show kept going on the other side. And the stars appeared too! I can say this is one in a million scenes and I believe I was the lucky one to witness it. Patience here has definitely paid off.

Spring Setting Galaxy
One of my favourite subjects is astro photography. Chasing the Milky Way Galaxy in a very dark places is the way to go. Created in the middle of the night, this place at Gatakers Bay in Point Vernon was pitch black. To see this lone mangrove, the technique of light painting worked like magic.

Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse
I chased the Full Moon setting down at Point Vernon before the sun rose back in July 2018 which happened to be a Lunar Eclipse at the same time. This is why the moon becomes red. I had a couple of minutes window to create this image before the moon was covered with mist.

Ghost Hill
1st Edition of 50
While driving my way home from work, this vivid dark clouds gave me the determination to chase some storm. I knew exactly where I was going to be at. Upon arrival at the scene, I only had 5 minutes before I get drench. While creating this image, I could hear the rain fast approaching. There were a couple of lightning strikes too. This is a composite image with the streak of lightning as a separate exposure.

Flashes at Dusk
4th Edition of 10
It's been awhile I haven't chased this elusive nature. After a sunset shoot at Gatakers Bay 'til dusk, I got very excited to see the flashes right infront of me. I actually went home and decided to come back. Fortunately it was only a minute drive from home. The area was pitch black and it was a perfect scene. I quickly set up the tripod next to the car with its headlights lighting up my favourite tree. I commenced the chase which lasted for half an hour. So glad I came then as I would have had missed this :)

Catching the Moon
4th Edition of 50
It has been a long time since I created my last image of the moon. I had the chance of chasing the moon rising at 98% waning gibbous over at Urangan beach at the Dayman Park. The best part is, it showed up in an orange colour, which I really love the most :)

Underneath After The Storm
5th Edition of 10
This was created after Hervey Bay had two days of rain. I was having fun geting myself wet while capturing the water's movement under the jetty. This is one of my favourite subjects to photograph. I do have another image of this same perspective. But this one has the background of the sunset clouds, which kind of match the colour of the pylons.

Playing with the Storm
4th Edition of 10
Whale watching is a must thing to do in Hervey Bay. I normally do this each year when I can. Back in September 2015 on board the Quick Cat II with wind speed at 25kph, you can just imagine how difficult it was, rocking on the boat while creating an image to perfection. Apparently our gentle giant friends like to play with gusty wind. Hmmmm..this is definitely a challenge. But I'm absolutely up to it especially with a scene like this!
